Disko hau David Azurza, Francisco Contreras (El niño de Elche) eta Xabier Erkiziaren elkarlanaren ondorio da. 2013ko uztailean, hainbat grabaketa eta ahozko ariketa egin ziren Tolosako Bonbereneako espazio autogestionatuan zein herri bereko Karmeldarren komentuko kaperan, Oier Etxeberriak 2012-2013 bitartean idatzitako ohar eta partitura batzuetatik abiatuta.

Este disco es fruto de una colaboración con los músicos David Azurza, Francisco Contreras (El niño de Elche) y Xabier Erkizia. Durante el mes de julio de 2013, se realizaron una serie de grabaciones y ejercicios vocales en la capilla de las Carmelitas y el estudio del centro autogestionado Bonberenea (ambas situadas en Tolosa), a partir de anotaciones y partituras escritas por Oier Etxeberria en el periodo 2012-2013.

This record emerged from a collaborative project involving the musicians David Azurza, Francisco Contreras (El niño de Elche) and Xabier Erkizia. During the month of July 2013 a series of recordings and vocal exercises were realised in the Chapel of the Carmelites and the studio of the self-managed Bonberenea centre (both located in Tolosa), taking as their starting point notes and scores written by Oier Etxeberria in the 2012-2013 period.

Locuela, Ignazio Loiolakoak, funtsean hitzaren azpiko adierazpen gisa definitu eta XVI. mendeko terminologia mistikoan sartu zuen kontzeptu bat da. Diska honetan ahotsaren, espazioaren eta gorputzaren arteko harremanak arakatzen dira, esanahiaren konfigurazioaren aurretiko faseari dagokionez batez ere. Definida por San Ignacio de Loyola como una manifestación fundamentalmente infraverbal, la Locuela fue un termino introducido por el santo en la terminología mística del siglo XVI. Este proyecto explora las relaciones entre la voz, el espacio y el cuerpo principalmente en su estadio anterior a la configuración del significado. Sin embargo, las partituras de Locuela incluyen frases, palabras y términos que remiten a la vocación teológica de algunos conceptos económicos como deuda, crédito, contabilidad y existencia, todos ellos estrechamente ligados al proyecto ignaciano de administrar meticulosamente los sentidos y producir un lenguaje capaz de combinar lo fantastico y lo consciente.

Asimismo, la propuesta incluye entre sus textos dos poemas de Nicanor Parra que pertenecen a su poemario “Sermones y predicas del Cristo de Elqui”. Un trabajo en el que el autor asume el alter ego de Domingo Zarate Vega (1898-1971) y que es reconocido por su ingenio evocador en todo lo referido a las paradojas que lo “sagrado” -en cuanto algo que hace referencia a aquello innombrable- encuentra al entrar en colisión con la constitución de las palabras y el lenguaje.



Locuela, defined by Saint Ignacio de Loyola as a fundamentally infraverbal manifestation, was a term that the saint introduced into the mystic terminology of the XVI century. This project explores the relations amongst the voice, space and the body, principally in the phase prior to the configuration of meaning. However, the scores used in Locuela include phrases, words and terms that refer to the theological vocation of certain economic concepts like debt, credit, accountancy and existence, all closely linked to Ignacio de Loyola’s project to meticulously administer the senses and produce a language capable of combining the fantastic with consciousness.

Furthermore, the texts used in the project include two poems by Nicanor Parra, taken from his poetry collection “Sermones y predicas del Cristo de Elqui [Sermons and Homilies of the Christ of Elqui]”. This work, in which the author assumes the alter ego of Domingo Zarate Vega (1898-1971), is renowned for the ingenious way in which it evokes the paradoxes encountered by the “sacred” – anything referring to what is unnameable – when it collides with the constitution of words and language.
